IU Responds to Praise for Acting Questions, Make Film 'Persona' an Example of Luck - 'Persona' aired on Netflix starting on April 5.
IU recently held a press conference ahead of the screening of the film series "Persona". The 1993 idol was the main character in four film series and played 4 very different characters.
On that occasion, IU discussed his acting, which had previously been criticized, now received praise from the public. The singer "Through The Night" made the film "Persona" an example of his luck.
"I feel happy to get a warm response. I dreamed of acting since I was young and I wanted to become an actress before the singer. After debuting as a singer, I participated in various projects with sincerity. Through those projects, I learned the parts that I don't know. I guess that's why in the eyes of the audience, my acting changed, "IU said.
"In the case of this project, I was very lucky. There were no directors (of the 4 directors) who had different views from me. They could make me really understand it. And they have an open mind where I can voice opinions without being intimidated," IU continued.
"To be honest, I didn't know this would be a big project. I didn't know it would get a lot of attention when I decided to become the main actor. I was very happy to get an offer and decided to work hard, but many people were interested," IU continued.
"I never imagined that we would hold a press conference like this. I agreed to star in this film because I felt it was a new honor and challenge," concluded IU.
