Lately, South Korean and Japanese diplomatic relations have been slightly heated up

But it seems that the popularity of BTS is still the main attraction for music lovers in the country of Sakura. The proof, recently circulated news that Kohaku Uta Gassen's staff still tried to invite the Big Hit Entertainment care group. Kohaku staff even flew to Europe to search for BTS who were currently touring.

Kohaku itself is known as one of the most prestigious new year music events in Japan. Unfortunately, the rating of this event is rumored to continue to decline every year so that the event staff also tries to present big Kpop stars such as TVXQ and BTS.

Journalist Toshi Yoshioka revealed that BTS activities in Japan were in the process of discussion. But even if BTS doesn't appear on the Kohaku program, that isn't something surprising.

According to the journalist, Kohaku is actually not an event that is quite calculated by BTS, because this event is believed not to have a big influence on their popularity, so even if this group does not appear on Kohaku, BTS will not be too disadvantaged.

Coupled with the recent lack of conducive diplomatic relations between countries, it is only natural that BTS chose not to be present at Kohaku.
