Former Wanna One leader, Yoon Jisung, has officially debuted as a solo singer on Wednesday (20/2). He held a showcase at Blue Square iMarket Hall Seoul, to release his first solo album titled "Aside".
When starting the showcase, Yoon Jisung couldn't resist his nervousness. However, he hopes his solo debut performance can run well.
"I was very nervous. I was overwhelmed and excited. My feelings were mixed because I was also worried," Yoon Jisung said. "I had a wonderful dream last night, so I hope everything can go well. That's why I didn't tell anyone about my dream."
The main single on his solo debut album is a song titled "In the Rain". This song tells about someone's sad emotions after experiencing unexpected separation. Yoon Jisung revealed that he cried when recording this song.
"I cried while recording it," Yoon Jisung said. "The song will feel better when you listen to it more often."
Yoon Jisung then discussed the song "Comma" which he had compiled with Lee Dae Hwi. For Yoon Jisung, this song is very special, because it is a gift from Dae Hwi and he actively participated in writing the lyrics.
"I participated in writing the lyrics. Because the song was a gift from Lee Dae Hwi and the first time I wrote lyrics, I wanted people to listen to it," said Yoon Jisung. "This song is very special to me."
This 1991-born singer also mentioned Wanna One. Yoon Jisung expressed the pressure he experienced because of singing alone on the stage.
"Because I did something I used to do with the members, I felt a little pressure and worry," Yoon Jisung said. "I would lie if I said I didn't feel their absence."
Yoon Jisung then talked about his mandatory military plan. He claimed to be upset because he had just started a new chapter in his life, but had to fulfill his obligations as a Korean man.
"I'm a little upset because the second half of my life has just begun. But I plan to continue to show a different side of me," said Yoon Jisung. "I will continue to impress you even after leaving the military. Until my departure day, I will promote diligently."
