Claimed to Apologize, This American Radio Program Is Back Again Mocking Lay and NCT 127? - Radio programs in the United States, ‘The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show’ from 106.1 KISS FM again reap fan criticism.
Fans certainly still remember that this radio program had previously received criticism from K-Pop fans and was required to issue an official apology.
The controversy began when the announcer ‘The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show’ discussed the song ‘Let’s SHUT UP & DANCE’ of Jason Derulo, Lay EXO and NCT 127. But when they introduced the song they only mentioned Jason Derulo's name.
The radio broadcaster also thought that this song was sung by members of Bangtan Boys. But after finding out they were not members of Bangtan Boys, the publishers called Lay and NCT 127 as "Ordinary Asian men who dance."
After reaping controversy, the official Twitter account ‘The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show’ released their official apology.
In their apology they conveyed, "To NCT 127 and Lay fans. We are sorry. When playing new songs for listeners, we made a mistake. When playing ‘Let’s SHUT UP & DANCE’, we only know it as Jason Derulo song based on our notes. ”
"When we saw the video playing on KiddTV while chatting, we thought they were BTS. We are still learning about K-Pop and knowing BTS, but not yet familiar with Lay and NCT 127. Calling them "A group of ordinary Asian dancing men" is our unprofessional attitude. Sometimes we talk first before getting the information. "
But the controversy is the last paragraph on the letter of apology, "Again we apologize and we look forward to the time when all humans on Earth know NCT and Lay as they know Ari (Ariana Grande), Taylor (Taylor Swift) and Justin (Justin Bieber). "
Many assume that the statement was addressed by this radio program to mock Lay and NCT 127 which are still not as popular as Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber throughout the world.
That makes many fans feel they don't accept it because they are considered insincere in apologizing. (www.kpopchart.net)
