BTS Defended by Dead Fans After Album and MV Cover Accused of Plagiarism - In 2016, BTS was also accused of copying one of SHINee's albums.

In 2016, BTS was also accused of copying one of SHINee's albums.

On May 2, 2016, Bangtan Boys released the album "Hwayang Yeonhwa: Young Forever". But not long after, BTS was accused of plagiarizing SHINee's Japanese album, "Lucky Star", because of the similarity of concepts.

After almost three years passed, now the BTS is again accused of plagiarism. This accusation was stated by a French photographer, Bernard Faucon.

Bernard Faucon claimed that the music video in the song "Blood, Sweat and Tears" had plagiarized one of his works. This song itself was launched by BTS in 2016 as part of the album "Wings".

According to Faucon, the concept in the music video is very similar to the song "Banquet" from Summer Holiday which was launched in 1978. Because Faucon judges if the clothes worn by the members and the setting of the place have similarities.

Not only that, Faucon also claimed that the BTS album cover "Young Forever" also copied his work. This is based on the similarity of the album cover with his photography project, "The Most Beautiful Day of My Youth".

In an interview with a media outlet, Faucon said that BTS was inspired by it. With that pretext, he said he was canceled taking legal action.

"I'm happy because they are inspired by my work," Faucon said. "I don't plan to take legal action, but I hope they admit the fact has been inspired (with my work)."

Responding to this rumor, Big Hit Entertainment as a BTS agency firmly denied it, even since 2018. Based on their accounts, both parties exchanged certificates of authenticity and Faucon even apologized and received compensation.

"Last September, a gallery claimed equality," the agency said. "And we send a statement that the claim is invalid."

After learning this news, there were many fans who gave their defense to BTS. Because they judge if the concepts in these works are very different.

"This is considered tracing? It doesn't look like that at all," said Netter. "How can this be considered tracing? The whole album looks very different," added the other netter. "BTSs come from agencies that don't even do an ounce of media games, and when invited to the Grammy, they depart with their own jets. But of course, embarrassing news like this always makes it a trending topic," said another.

Some other fans even teased Faucon with sarcastic sentences. Some even think that this accusation arises because BTS has become increasingly famous.

"If that's all that is needed so that something is considered plagiarism, then everything in the world is plagiarized," said Netter. "The more you are famous, the more people crawl at you," said another. "At this level, even breathing will be considered plagiarized," concluded the others.
