UPPER ROOM has also opened official social media accounts and begun to hint at Mark Lee's new artistic identity.

Officially establishing his own agency, former NCT member Mark Lee is ready to open a new chapter as an independent artist.

As reported by Kpop Chart from Dispatch (June 4, 2026), Mark recently completed the business entity registration for a company called UPPER ROOM at the Mapo Tax Office.

On June 3, he also opened official Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts for his agency.

Hinting at a New Identity and Musical Direction

UPPER ROOM displays a religious tone on its social media accounts, featuring Bible quotes from the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament.

Through this, Mark is said to be hinting at the musical direction he will develop in the future.

One of the released teasers includes the line, "I will record in the oldest way before the noise of the world begins," while another teaser reads, "The moment our breath touches, silence will awaken."

These teasers also piqued curiosity about the concept and musical style Mark will introduce in the future.

A New Chapter After Leaving NCT and SM

For your information, Mark officially left his group, NCT, and his then-agency, SM Entertainment, last April after approximately 10 years of activity there since his debut in 2016.

When announcing his decision, he admitted that the decision must have felt very sudden for many.

He also said that he was naturally starting to think about what he truly wanted to do in the future.

Mark then said, "When I return to greet you as a new person in the future, I will do my best to show you the best version of myself."
