The perpetrator of Nana's home robbery was sentenced to seven years in prison after threatening her.
A man, identified as A, who robbed the home of After School member and now-actress Nana, was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Uijeongbu District Court. The decision was made on June 9, 2026, after the man, in his 30s, was found guilty of robbery with violence and threats with a weapon.
The court acknowledged that Nana and her mother acted in legitimate self-defense when confronting the perpetrator. The prosecution had previously requested a ten-year sentence, arguing that A's actions constituted a serious offense for entering a home with a weapon and threatening the female victim. According to the prosecutor's statement, "The defendant committed a serious offense by illegally entering a residence and threatening the female victim. He did not admit his guilt and showed no remorse, while the victims suffered psychological distress as a result of this incident."
At the closing hearing, A's defense attorney argued, "He entered the house at night with the intention of stealing, not to rob with violence. There is no evidence that the defendant was carrying a weapon when he entered the house." Meanwhile, A himself apologized to the victim and promised not to repeat his actions. He admitted to breaking and entering and attempted theft, but denied the robbery charges. A also expressed his intention to submit medical documents showing that he suffered a knife wound of more than 5 cm in length.
A was charged with robbing Nana's home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province last November, demanding valuables and threatening her with a weapon. In the incident, Nana and her mother subdued A after a physical struggle and handed him over to the police. Nana told the court, "After this incident, I thought I was fine. But somehow, this remains a trauma in my life. Why is this trial taking so long, and why do we have to suffer such humiliation? It's as if we are constantly being wronged."
