Ahead of KARA's comeback, Park Gyuri actually suffered a serious injury and underwent facial surgery. So, how does this affect the group's comeback and activities?
KARA's Park Gyuri is currently recovering after suffering a serious injury to her face. In fact, KARA will make a comeback in the near future.
On Sunday (14/7/2024), Gyuri uploaded a photo on the X account (formerly Twitter). In the uploaded photo, Gyuri's toes can be seen while she is lying in the hospital room.
“I will have surgery tomorrow. I want to lean on my darling,” and added, “Look forward to it.”
No wonder, Gyuri received lots of prayers from fans for a speedy recovery. They hope that the KARA leader can participate in their comeback at the end of the month.
Previously, on July 13, Gyuri's agency, Big Boss Entertainment, announced that Gyuri had just suffered a broken cheekbone and a broken orbital bone. The injury was obtained when Gyuri was carrying out personal activities.
The agency stated, “Gyuri recently suffered a broken cheekbone and orbital fracture while carrying out personal activities. He has visited the hospital and undergone a thorough examination.”
Furthermore, they said, “The examination results show that surgery needs to be carried out taking into account the location of the injury. The medical staff informed us that it will take approximately 4-5 weeks for Gyuri to recover from the surgery.”
Along with this injury, Gyuri decided to stop all activities during July to focus on recovery. The agency shared, “After careful discussions, the actress and our company decided that she should avoid excessive activity during the treatment period and focus on recovery. Therefore, activities scheduled for July will not proceed.”
Big Boss Entertainment underlined that Gyuri's health and safety is their top priority and they will make every effort to help Gyuri recover as quickly as possible.
Gyuri is supposed to make a comeback with KARA on July 24 by releasing the digital single "I Do I Do." This is their latest song after one year and eight months since their special album "MOVE AGAIN" was released in November 2022. However, the injury suffered by Gyuri a few weeks before this comeback put the group's situation in a critical state.
Although KARA will still release their new songs at the end of July, promotional activities may be affected by Gyuri's hiatus for treatment and recovery. Apart from that, KARA also plans to hold their solo concert entitled "2024 KARASIA" in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan in August. Fans are looking forward to whether Gyuri can recover in time and perform with the group at the concert.
As additional information, Gyuri recently opened a YouTube channel in preparation for KARA's comeback and is actively communicating with fans via social media. (wk/inta)
