The previous best-selling album status of all time belonged to BTS' 2020 album 'Map of the Soul: 7' which sold over 3.3 million copies in its first week and has since sold over 4.2 million copies.
Just a few days after its release, SEVENTEEN's latest mini album entitled "FML" has become the best-selling Korean album of all time. Previously on April 24th at 6pm. KST, SEVENTEEN made their highly anticipated comeback with their 10th mini album “FML” and ultimately, “FML” has become the first album in Hanteo history to sell over 3 million copies on its first day.
Hanteo Chart has now reported that “FML” managed to sell a record-breaking total of 4,550,214 copies in its first week of release (April 24 to 30), making SEVENTEEN the only artist in K-pop history to surpass 4 million sales in one week.
SEVENTEEN not only broke the record for the highest first week sales in Hanteo history, but "FML" has set a new record for the highest total album sales to date. The two recordings previously belonged to BTS' 2020 album “Map of the Soul: 7,” which sold over 3.3 million copies in its first week and has since sold over 4.2 million copies.

Meanwhile SEVENTEEN debuted on May 26, 2015, with the mini album "17 Carat" which became the year's longest-charting K-pop album in the US and the only rookie album to appear on Billboard's "Top 10 Best K-Pop Albums of 2015" list. SEVENTEEN is considered a “self-produced” idol group, with its members actively involved in songwriting and choreography, among other aspects of their music and performances. (wk/aiss)
