Om-om admitted that one of the NewJeans fanboys made SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan unable to hide his shock. This statement led to controversy among fans.
SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan (II) underwent a unique promotion by creating content by joining a chat group with several ahjussi or uncles. He is known to have just made a comeback with the SEVENTEEN sub-unit, BSS along with DK and Hoshi.
One of the conversations that made a scene was that uncles admitted they liked NewJeans. Seungkwan couldn't hide his surprise because of this confession.
At first the conversation in the chat group was related to boomers but ended up changing to a meme from the Minji NewJeans video which had gone viral. "Kang Hae Rin is weird," said man A. "Are you Bunnies?" asked man B referring to the name of a NewJeans fan.
"What? Let's have a drink together. I didn't expect to meet other Bunnies here," said guy A. "Wow," replied B while giving a hand up emoji indicating he is also a NewJeans fan. "I love Aussie girls in NewJeans," admits man C referring to Danielle.
"I saw the video 'Kang Hae Rin is weird', I know that but I was very surprised when they alluded to it in the chat," I am this handsome idol born in 1998.
"K-Pop is divided into before and after NewJeans," said man C. "Age doesn't matter if it's related to talented idols," explained man B. Meanwhile, man A blatantly sang "Hype Boy" showing his love for NewJeans.
Content showing men of at least middle age liking NewJeans led to controversy. Many fans are afraid that this will be normalized considering that NewJeans is still underage. Not a few who expect the K-Pop industry to stop debuting underage children to avoid pedophilia.
"Seungkwan's episode on pixid was so exciting that om-om started saying they were newjeans fans," one fan exclaimed on Twitter. "Watching seungkwan's episode on pixid... uncles like newjeans are very strange to me.....," I said. "5 minutes after watching the pixid video and I can't watch it anymore. These uncles say they like new jeans, oh my god, I'm so disgusted. They are UNDERAGE CHILDREN. oh my god," explained another. "We have to stop debuting minor because when I watch Pixid's new video with Seungkwan and middle-aged uncles talking about liking new jeans.. and when they say when they know others they say le seraphim and ive...
