There are quite a lot of Korean artists who are aware of social issues, especially among K-pop idols. These artists are known to have started voicing their opinions regarding social issues that are currently being hotly discussed.

Even though the issues raised are often quite sensitive and controversial, they still voice what they think.

In fact, some of them also have to experience and deal with problems related to social issues that are currently being discussed, such as mental health.

The following is a row of K-pop idols who are aware of social issues, summarized from various sources, Thursday (23/2/2023).

5 K-pop idols who are literate about social issues

In particular, BigHit confirmed that BTS and their own agency donated one million US dollars or approximately IDR 15 billion to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.

Then, BTS wrote on their Twitter account: “We are against racism. We condemn violence. We all deserve to be respected. We will stand side by side.”

2. Jimin BTS

A BTS Jimin upload initially raised big questions because no one knew what happened until the heartbreaking truth behind it was revealed. Jimin used his influence to raise awareness of child abuse and to participate in the #SorryJung-in campaign.

Previously, the police three times ignored Jung-in's teacher and pediatrician's warnings about signs of violence.

3. Mark GOT7

Not only BTS, Mark GOT7 also shared screenshots of information confirming that he had donated to the George Floyd Memorial Foundation on Twitter. This male idol from JYP also donated seven thousand US dollars or the equivalent of IDR 106 million for charity.
