Director General (Dirjen) of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed his gratitude to Lee Seung Gi.
Apparently, it has something to do with Seung Gi's role in the drama he is currently airing, 'The Law Cafe.'
According to Soompi's report, Monday (9/19/2022), Kim Jeung Ho's character (played by Lee Seung Gi) warned of the dangers of excessive salt consumption. More specifically, Jeung Ho mentioned the recommendations given by the WHO.
Thus, the Director General of WHO personally expressed his gratitude for the campaign. In the drama, Lee Seung Gi did directly mention the WHO recommendation for salt consumption in the first episode. Where the scene occurred when Jeung Ho was having lunch with his two female tenants and one cousin.
“WHO recommends that the daily consumption of salt should not exceed two thousand milligrams. That means about a teaspoon flat,” said Kim Jeung Ho in the drama.
Seeing the scene in the episode, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus tweeted that included a snippet of the video clip. He thanked Seung Gi and the television station that broadcast the drama 'The Law Cafe,' KBS 2TV.
"Thank you (in Korean) for voicing the WHO recommendation on daily salt consumption, Lee Seung Gi and KBS, in the K-drama 'The Law Cafe'! That's right, #LessSalt is better for our health, no more than one teaspoon per day," wrote the WHO Director General.
In that post too, Dr. Tedros uploaded a campaign poster for salt consumption which also has an impact on heart health. Do you think Celeb Hitz is also moved to start limiting salt consumption like Seung Gi oppa suggested? /celebrities.id
