Shocking news for Blink, as BLACKPINK fans are called. Because their idol group is scheduled to appear at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)!
Launching Soompi, Tuesday (16/8/2022), BLACKPINK was announced as one of the four artists who will perform at the 2022 MMA. The plan is that the group consisting of Jisso, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa will debut at the United States award show by performing pre-release single from the album "BORN PINK" namely, "Pink Venom".
With this achievement, BLACKPINK also made history as the first K-pop girl group to appear at the VMAs. They won in the Song of The Summer category, with the song "How You Like That".
This year, BLACKPINK was also nominated in the Best Metaverse Performance category thanks to their performance at the The Virtual concert held in the PUBG game. While the maknae, Lisa also received a nomination as a solo artist for Best Kpop with the song "LALISA".
Other celebrities who will be performing at this year's VMAs include Antta, J Balvin, Marshmello x Khalid, Panic! At The Disco, Lizzo, Jack Harlow, and Maneskin.
The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will air on August 29, 9AM KST. BLACKPINK's pre-release single "PINK VENOM" itself is scheduled for release on August 19. While their second full album "BORN PINK" will be released on September 16. /celebrities.id
