BLACKPINK recently made Kpop history as the first girl group to surpass 2 million pre-order sales with “BORN PINK”.
Launching Soompi, Thursday (08/25/2022), YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK's second album "BORN PINK" has surpassed 2 million pre-order sales, thereby making it the first girl group album to achieve the feat.
The number of pre-order sales is the number of sales of albums produced before the album was released. This figure is an estimate of demand calculated using a variety of factors, including how many albums fans have pre-ordered.
BLACKPINK previously also became the first girl group to surpass one million stock pre-orders with their 2020 studio album “THE ALBUM” two years ago.
After releasing the pre-release single "Pink Venom", BLACKPINK will be releasing their full album on September 16. Meanwhile, the group will perform "Pink Venom" for the first time on US television at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) on August 28, 2022.
