Kim Sae Ron was accused of driving while drunk in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He hit a tree and an electric transformer box then fled the scene.
The accident caused a power outage in the surrounding area for 4 hours due to a broken transformer. After receiving reports from residents, the police rushed to the scene and arrested Kim Sae Ron who was about 640 meters from the crash site.
At the time of his arrest, Kim Sae Ron refused to take a breathalyzer test and requested that he be taken to a nearby hospital for a blood test.
