Kang Ha Neul Proves 'Insider' is the Class of Big Screen Movies, Violent Scenes Get Criticism

Previously, Kang Ha Neul revealed the reason he agreed to star in 'Insider' because the quality was like a big screen movie. Immediately After Airing, Kang Ha Neul's Acting Received Mixed Reviews.

Kang Ha Neul has just returned to the small screen with "Insider" starting this week. Shortly after the 2nd episode premiered, his acting quickly caught the attention of viewers.

"Insider" is a suspense action drama about the story of Kim Yo Han (Kang Ha Neul), a judicial trainee who experiences a crisis while going undercover to investigate a corruption case. Eventually, he struggles to try to get hold of the card that changes his fate. While in prison, Kim Yo Han begins to plot revenge for the betrayal he experienced.

Immediately after the broadcast, Kang Ha Neul's words about "Insider" were proven like a big screen movie. In terms of content alone, this drama is nothing new, where it has been described in "Infinite", "New World" and "My Name" which recently became popular on Netflix. The chaos since the premiere episode and its rapid development have excited viewers.

In particular, Kang Ha Neul has struggled since he first appeared. Through "Insider", Kang Ha Neul is considered to have erased the image of rural youth in the previous work "When the Camellia Blooms".

During the drama, Kang Ha Neul showed a passionate performance. The actor is considered to have shown confusion, frustration and a solid inner side of Kim Yo Han amidst the turbulent situation. In addition, his synergy with other talented actors enhances the "Insider" impression that started off so strong.

Although Kang Ha Neul's acting received praise, "Insider" could not be separated from criticism. This drama is considered to have included unnecessary scenes when Kim Yo Han was tied up and brutally tortured. Violent scenes involving blood splattered in the mouth and Kim Yo Han's suffering shocked the audience.

Although expected to play a genre as strong as the film, "Insider" received criticism for the violent scenes that were too brutal. "Do you guys really need this scene?" said netizens.

Meanwhile, "Insider" airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 22:30 local time. The next episode can be watched on June 15. (wk/inta)
