LE SSERAFIM is a girl group under a source music agency where they debuted with the title song 'FEARLESS', which means not being afraid. It turns out, behind it has something to do with the determination of its members.
The success of LE SSERAFIM has received high attention from K-Pop music lovers. Many are curious how the concept of the group that carries the theme "FEARLESS" according to their debut song can be formed.
Recently, Source Music producer Kim Sung Hyun (34) who is responsible for producing the formation of LE SSERAFIM at HYBE's headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul gave several statements regarding this rookie girl group. Please note beforehand that Kim Sung Hyun, who has joined Big Hit since 2012 and participated in directing the album concept "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever" to "Dynamite" by BTS (Bangtan Boys). This time, Kim challenged himself in working on a girl group.
When asked what concept LE SSERAFIM is pursuing, Ki Sung Hyun revealed that the theme will always change. "We didn't come up with a fixed concept. I just helped the girls express what they wanted to convey," he said.
From a company perspective, since BTS or LE SSERAFIM, we don't have a fixed concept. First, through personal interviews with the members, I will listen to what they want to show. From there, I found out what all the members are pursuing in common. In LE's case SSERAFIM, I feel they all have a lot of ambition that is not hidden," said Kim Sung Hyun.
Kim Sung Hyun also told the beginning why the Miyawaki Sakura cs girl group was finally named LE SSERAFIM. It was because Kim Sung Hyun saw that the members' desire was very strong.
"They are also dissatisfied with reality. In addition, I feel their desire to continue to the next chapter in their lives while maintaining their respective colors. That's why we decided to name this group LE SSERAFIM," said Kim Sung Hyun.
Kim Sung Hyun also doesn't differentiate between girl and boy groups from his perspective as a producer. "As a producer, I never thought I would set a fixed sight for a girl group. Be it BTS or LE SSERAFIM, both are amazing, and I want to help them show their potential. I try to focus on revealing each member's unique charms," he said.
When asked how Kim Sung Hyun gave a description for this girl group, he had various statements. "Sakura debuted in the Japanese girl group HKT48, then IZ * ONE, and this is her 3rd debut. She always wants to show a more mature image of herself," said Kim Sung Hyun.
"Similar to the case of Kim Chaewon who was active with Sakura in IZ*ONE. In our interview, I was impressed when she said, wanting to try something new, by going to try riding a motorcycle.
