BLACKPINK is rumored to be making a comeback in the near future. Even so, BLINKs as BLACKPINK fans are actually worried about the survival of their idol's fate.
The reason is, BLACKPINK will be seven years old in 2023 since their first debut in 2016 and their contract will also end next year.
In South Korea, there is a myth of the "7 year curse" which is still believed to be the age limit for boyband and girlband groups to exist and survive.

Some cases that are believed to be a real form of the "7 year curse" include SISTAR, 4MINUTE, miss A, KARA, and 2NE1.
This term is used among K-Pop fans to describe incidents of K-Pop groups losing members or disbanding on their 7th anniversary.
"Often this is caused by a 7-year contract with their label," wrote a statement obtained from Koreaboo on Sunday (12/6/2022).

From the information obtained, some BLINKs suspect that BLACKPINK's fate will also end when its contract with the label expires in 2023.
On the other hand, some BLINKs think that a BLACKPINK member will leave instead of their girl group disbanding.
This is based on the results of Jisoo BLACKPINK's interview with Rolling Stone magazine on May 27, 2022 yesterday.
"He (Jisoo) said that sometimes he appeared not because of desire, but because of a sense of responsibility and duty," concluded the statement obtained. /suara.com
