Twitter was flooded with tweets bearing the hashtag #StaySelcaDay. The hashtag became a trending topic on Twitter, Wednesday (25/5/2022).
After further investigation, the hashtag turned out to be a place for Kpop lovers or Kpopers to show off their selfies with their favorite idols. Especially the hashtag #StaySelcaDay, specifically aimed at fans of the Stray Kids Boyband.
Stray Kids is a South Korean boy band consisting of 9 charismatic young men. The bias of these idols then uses the hashtag #StaySelcaDay to show off selfies juxtaposed with their idols.
So, if you do a search for the hashtag #StaySelcaDay, you will find Kpopers sharing selfies with their idols. Interestingly, the photo must be as similar as possible or have the same common thread as the photo of the idol.
Like the upload shared by the Twitter account @fluffshyunie. He shared a photo with the same red hair as usual, namely Hyunjin. The upload got up to 4 thousand likes, you know.
There is also an upload shared by the @gunitahan account which shares photos that are very similar to their idols. He dyed his hair the same color as Felix Stray Kids and the pose is similar. Very funny, yes.
Selca Day itself is very familiar to the Kpopers community. According to the explanation of the Kpop Starz page, Selca itself means the South Korean version of selfie. Well, Selca Day is made for Kpop lovers to share selfie photos with their favorite idols. This action can be found on Twitter.
Besides #StaySelcaDay, you can also find hashtags #ARMYSelcaDay, #EXOLSelcaDay, to #CaratSelcaDay. It happened because there are so many K-pop music groups and it is certain that all of them have fans.
