No need to wait long, Miyawaki Sakura-Kim Chae Won is sure to debut in May
Miyawaki Sakura = Kim Chae Won

On March 21, News1 reported that the new girl group is currently training and preparing to debut in May, which was later confirmed by Source Music.

Fans don't seem to have to wait long to see Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae Won's cool action again. The reason is that the two former members of the girl group IZ * ONE who have just joined the new agency Source Music will soon debut with their new group.

On March 21, News1 reported that the new girl group is currently training and preparing to debut in May. In response to the report, Source Music commented, "The first girl group created under HYBE with Kim Chae Won and Miyawaki Sakura is preparing with the aim of debuting in May. Their debut schedule will be announced once confirmed."

Meanwhile Miyawaki Sakura first debuted in Japan as a member of HKT48 in 2011. Together with Kim Chae Won, the two starred in Mnet's “Produce 48” in 2018, and they debuted as members of IZ*ONE. After the project group disbanded, Miyawaki Sakura also graduated from her old group HKT48 and parted ways with her Japanese management agency.

Previously on August 17, 2021, it was reported that Kim Chae Won would be joining an upcoming girl group under Source Music. On August 19, it was also reported that Miyawaki Sakura would be joining Source Music, but nothing was confirmed at the time.

Source Music itself is known as a former G-Friend agency and this new group will be their first girl group after Umji et al disbanded last year. HYBE Labels (then Big Hit Entertainment) acquired Source Music in July 2019. HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk stepped down from his CEO position last July to focus on his role as chairman of the board of directors and to dedicate more efforts to music production. (wk/aiss)
