IU and actress Kim Go Eun made a large donation for fire victims in South Korea.

On Friday (04/03) yesterday, a large fire broke out on the east coast of Korea on a mountain near the seaside city of Uljin in North Gyeongsang Province. The fire then spread to the city of Samcheok in Gangwon Province and has destroyed more than a hundred homes and evacuated thousands of people.

On Saturday (05/03), the Hope Bridge Association of the National Disaster Relief announced that IU had made a donation worth 100 million Won or around 1.1 billion Rupiah. The funds will be used to help fire victims who are evacuating.

IU is indeed known as one of the South Korean celebrities who often donate, including for flood victims to COVID-19.

Not only IU, actress Kim Go Eun also donated 50 million Won to fire victims or around 590 million Rupiah.

Kim Go Eun shared, “I am very concerned about the people who have lost their homes due to the forest fires. I hope the fire goes out quickly and doesn't spread. I hope this can be a warm help for local residents who are victims and also for firefighters.”

Previously, Kim Go Eun was also known to have made donations to forest fires in 2019 and poor people affected by COVID-19 in 2020. (www.kpopchart.net)
