Not many know, Son Sang Yeon is currently undergoing his military service. This is quite surprising when you see that he is only 19 years old. Plus, the 2002-born actor decided to enlist at the peak of his career.

Son Sang Yeon enlisted in November 2021, just a few months after the SBS drama "Racket Boys" made his name. According to the agency's statement, he is serving in the military as an active duty soldier.

In “Racket Boys,” Son Sang Yeon played Bang Yoon Dam, the captain of the Hannam Seo Middle School badminton team. He starred in this drama alongside other young stars, Tang Joon Sang, Choi Hyun Wook and Kim Kang Hoon.

Thanks to his role in “Racket Boys,” Son Sang Yeon won Best New Actor at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards. He appeared at the awards ceremony in a military uniform during his military vacation.
