Adapted from a webtoon, the drama "Tomorrow" is Kim Hee Sun's project in the near future. So don't be surprised if the professionalism of the actress starring in the drama becomes a totality both in terms of acting and appearance at the same time.
With the same drama title and webtoon, "Tomorrow" tells the story of Choi Joon Woong (SF9's Rowoon) who gets into an accident while struggling to find a job. As a result, he crosses paths with grim reapers Goo Ryun (Kim Hee Sun) and Lim Ryoong Goo (Yoon Ji On) who work together to save people's lives by committing suicide.
Choi Joon Woong finally joins their team in the underworld as their youngest member. In this drama, Kim Hee Sun plays the role of a powerful grim reaper where he is the leader of the Crisis management team at the afterlife monopoly spirit management headquarters called Joomadeung (phantasmagoria). His role is to save the lives of people who are contemplating suicide.
When asked why he chose the drama. "I want to do a drama that entertains everyone. Instead of conveying a good message, I hope 'Tomorrow' will become a drama that will entertain viewers as if through its existence it says 'I am here for you'," said the actress.
Kim Hee Sun described her character as a tsundere, a character who seems cold on the outside but warm on the inside. "He speaks straightforwardly and strongly to those who have given up on their lives so that they can stand up and be enlightened, but there is love and compassion in them. Ryun's heart knows to consider other people and that's cool," he said.
"We are similar in that we both take good care of people, but we are different in that it's not like I like to socialize with people, he doesn't take care of anyone close to him," he said.
When the first stills for the drama were released, Kim Hee Sun received a lot of attention for her short hair dyed pink. He explained that his transformation was to match the characters from the webtoon and become part of his total immersion into the role.
"After seeing the original webtoon, I tried to match my outer appearance with hers. I thought it was the best way to get closer to the character and the project. It's the first time in 20 years that I've dyed my hair and got a bob haircut. To maintain the pink color, I wash my hair. hair every 2-3 days with a layering shampoo," she revealed about her new look.
Kim Hee Sun also talked about meeting Rowoon, Lee Soo Hyuk and Yoon Ji On during filming. "I met them for the first time in this project and we became very close. Rowoon is a very good friend, hardworking, and sincere. Yoon Ji On is cute and kind, and I'm grateful that he always follows me well. Lee Soo Hyuk is so cool so seeing her made me think maybe that's why she became a top model. In particular, when she said a sentence in a low voice, my attention was drawn to her," said Kim Hee Sun.
Kim Hee Sun continued, "Ryun is a grim reaper who saves people. He is a grim reaper who is completely different from what you have seen before. I hope you will support and watch Ryun save people along with the Joomadeung and Ryugu Crisis Management Team," continued Kim Hee Sun.
