A new girl group from Korea named XG is again a hot conversation in cyberspace.

The girl group will join the ranks of the next generation of K-Pop groups and have confirmed their debut date.

Reported by Allkpop, Tuesday (22/2/2022), the girl group XG will debut on March 18 this year. The girl group has released a teaser photo on February 18 last. In the teaser photo, the XG members show off their charisma in black and white outfits.

In addition, the girl group has released a teaser video showing each member's journey in realizing the next K-Pop girl group.

However, many netizens questioned the identity of the girl group XG. Not without reason, because XG is a girl group promoted by Avex Entertainment, which is an agency in Japan. Besides, all the members of this girl group are Japanese.

There are rumors that XG is affiliated with YG Entertainment. However, YG Entertainment denied any connection to the group. XG consists of seven members namely Jurin, Chisa, Harvey, Hinata, Juria, Maya and Cocona.

Please note that a member of Kep1er, Hiraku, will also join XG after he finishes promoting with the group. Hiraku debuted with Kep1er after winning on the show 'Girls Planet 999'.

With all the members being Japanese, it sparked a debate about whether the new girl group XG will be a K-pop group or just a J-Pop group. Korean netizens think that the girl group XG should not be under the K-pop category because the group consists of members who are Japanese and will be managed by a Japanese agency.

"They should only promote in Japan," wrote one Korean netizen.

"Why did they become K-pop? Aren't they J-pop?" wrote fans.

"Why are they trying to promote in Korea, This is ridiculous," wrote a netizen on his social media account. /celebrties.id
