5 Korean Dramas about Zombies, All of Us are Dead Triggers Controversy

After years of struggling with the romantic genre, South Korea has finally begun to explore the thriller genre drama.

Often packing zombie stories with unique elements, the South Korean drama industry is now being watched by many lovers of zombie films and series.

In addition to the film Train to Busan, which was a huge success, below, MNC Portal summarizes five series with the best zombie genre from South Korea, quoted from Koreaboo, Monday (31/1/2022).

1. All of Us are Dead

The latest zombie drama of the year, All of Us are Dead brings the zombie genre to a narrower and more limited school realm.

Focusing on a group of Hyosan High School kids who are supposed to have an ordinary school day, their world is turned 180 degrees when the undead attack.

Adapted from a webtoon comic titled Now at Our School, this zombie drama premiered in early 2022 and sparked controversy because it featured scenes of sexual harassment.

2. Kingdom

Talking about zombies, of course you can't forget the Kingdom drama. Being one of the best South Korean releases from the Netflix service, Kingdom is about a prince Lee Chang who must uncover the secret behind the destruction of his family dynasty due to a mysterious zombie outbreak.

Now having two seasons, the series also had a spin-off film called Ashin of the North which was a huge success.

3. Sweet Home

Although not conventionally about zombies, Sweet Home has many undead elements that are similar to zombie stories in general.

In this series, a group of apartment dwellers must survive when a mysterious infection spreads and turns many people into monsters with various dangerous powers.

4. Dark Hole

While the previous entry featured a zombie story from the perspective of ordinary citizens, Dark Hole focuses on the point of view of a police officer who has to investigate a strange murder case in the city of Muji.

However, when it arrived, apparently the murder was triggered by a mysterious black smoke that turned people into zombie-like monsters.

5. Zombie Detective

This one drama, Zombie Detective, also carries elements of comedy apart from thrillers and horror. This series is about a zombie who disguises himself as a human and tries to solve various criminal cases as a private detective.

Along with an assistant tasked with finding out the zombie's past, the series is full of hilarious moments when the protagonist has to hide his true identity from many people. /celebrties.id
