Ahead of the broadcast of 'Bulgasal: Immortal Souls', the director praised the acting of Lee Jin Wook, Kwon Nara, and others. Telling the time span of 600 years, Jang Young Woo promises this.
The upcoming tvN drama, "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" will soon greet viewers next week. This time, director Jang Young Woo took the time to talk about the drama, starring Lee Jin Wook and Kwon Nara.
"Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" is the story of Dan Hwal (Lee Jin Wook) who was once a human but has to live life as an immortal. And Hwal turns into a bulgasal who can neither die nor be killed. Wandering for 600 years, Dan Hwal searches for a way to break his curse through Min Sang Woon (Kwon Nara) who is reincarnated many times but always remembers his past life.
Regarding the strengths of "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls", director Jang Young Woo thought that the story was very rich with emotions. In addition, local wisdom is also raised in this drama which is full of "Korean sentiment". So Jang Young Woo tries to stick to the commitment of presenting a sad but beautiful love story through a visual game that moves from time to time for 600 years.
In expressing the past and present, I try to focus on things that change and things that don't. We try to capture the beauty of Korea in the video under this story, and in particular we try to show the beauty of our past and nature as it is through historical research as much as possible," explained the director.
The director deliberately raised the bulgasal story as one of the cultural treasures of Korea's past. Jang Young Woo hopes to bring the long abandoned story closer to society. In his opinion, mythical creatures from their culture would also be fun to make into a work of drama.
Regarding his trust in actors, Jang Young Woo gave sky-high praise to those who were involved. In addition to Lee Jin Wook, Kwon Nara, Lee Joon, and Gong Seung Yeon, the director also praised actors Park Myung Shin and UP10TION's Kim Wooseok for providing in-depth performances and excellent emotional analysis.
"I knew Lee Jin Wook in my previous films, but the role of Dan Hwal was suggested without hesitation because Lee Jin Wook could express it well before acting. I think for this best casting it's not enough to just say, 'Thank you for taking on the role.' Once again, I want to thank the four actors for acting sincerely."
Meanwhile, "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" can be seen on December 18th. Replacing "Jirisan", this drama will fill the Saturday-Sunday slot at 21.00 local time. (wk/inta)
