Playing a barrier to 2PM's Junho and Lee Se Young's love in 'The Red Sleeve', rookie actor Kang Hoon admitted to receiving a lot of help from the two of them. Like what?
The love journey of Yi San (Junho 2PM) and Sung Deok Im (Lee Se Young) will lead to a bright spot. The reason is, one by one the barriers have been removed from the palace including the royal secretary as well as Yi San's friend and teacher, Hong Duk Ro (Kang Hoon).
Last week being his last appearance in the drama, Kang Hoon took the time to do an interview about his role in "The Red Sleeve". As an ambitious figure, Hong Duk Ro becomes the "third person" who prevents Yi San from getting Sung Deok Im's love. But last week, Hong Duk Ro had to lose everything because he conspired behind Yi San's back and ended up taking his own life.
Despite being between the characters played by Junho and Lee Se Young, Kang Hoon as a newcomer feels a lot of their services. Both Junho and Lee Se Young often provide input in terms of acting. As a result, his appearance as an antagonist in "The Red Sleeve" received positive reviews.
"I saw Junho hyung on set, he is sincere and very good at acting. When I asked him, he told me in detail, 'Doesn't he feel like this?'" said Kang Hoon.
Meanwhile, with Lee Se Young, whose characters have had fierce confrontations several times, Kang Hoon felt that their relationship off-camera was 180 degrees different. Even Lee Se Young helped him reduce his nervousness.
"Lee Se Young has great energy on set. Even when I'm nervous, she helps me feel freer well and says, 'I think it will be better if I do this,' he said.
Grateful for the two seniors, Kang Hoon added, "The atmosphere on set was good from beginning to end. The PD laughed a lot, so every scene ended with laughter. The atmosphere got better and better because the drama was going well."
Meanwhile, Kang Hoon has been nominated to receive the Rookie of the Year award at the MBC Drama Awards broadcast on December 30. Regarding the invitation and nomination for his first award event as an actor, Kang Hoon admitted that he was so happy that he couldn't control his body and had to train his attitude. He even hoped that his co-star would win an award.
"If you give it to me, I will be grateful. Who do you think will receive the Daesang, Junho or Lee Se Young? I think it would be nice if Junho won the Daesang. Even if he and Lee Se Young won it together, it would be even better," close Kang Hoon. (wk/inta)
