'The Devil Judge' held a press conference ahead of its premiere this week. Playing the role of GOT7's Jinyoung's childhood friend, Park Gyu Young said his co-stars both made him happy because of this.
"The Devil Judge" will air its premiere episode this weekend. Prior to that, tvN held an online press conference which was attended by Ji Sung, Kim Min Jung, GOT7's Jinyoung, and Park Gyu Young.
Taking the concept of an alternative universe, this drama tells the story of a situation where South Korea is experiencing a period of decline in civilization. In the midst of the chaotic situation, the high court was held simultaneously as a show that could be watched by all levels of society throughout the country.
In the trial, there is a main judge named Kang Yo Han who does not hesitate to impose cruel punishments on criminals. In contrast, association judge Kim Ga On, played by Jinyoung, is suspicious of the motive behind the chief judge's actions. In the latest teaser, the two are involved in a conflict that ends in violence.
Meanwhile, Park Gyu Young will play Yoon Soo Hyun, Kim Ga On's childhood friend. Yoon Soo Hyun is a detective who faithfully accompanies Kim Ga On when his childhood friend is confronted with the terrifying reality of the courtroom.
Regarding his character, Park Gyu Young stated, "Soo Hyun seems very brave and strong. He is also tough and cool, but a lot of his actions draw strength from Ga On."
About how the moment with Jinyoung was on the set as a fellow actor, Park Gyu Young revealed if not much was different. In comparison, both he and Yoon Soo Hyun had a lot of fun time with Jinyoung and as Kim Ga On. According to him, Jinyoung more or less had a hand for him on the set.
"He spent some of the most beautiful moments in his life with Ga On to the point of wanting to protect him. In real life, I got a lot of good energy from Jinyoung," said Park Gyu Young.
No doubt, Jinyoung and Park Gyu Young's relationship in this drama will later become an important point that is worth waiting for. Meanwhile, "The Devil Judge" can be watched on July 3rd. The drama will air every Saturday and Sunday at 21:00 KST. (wk/inta)
