SBS presents a new drama with the theme of youth and sports, "Racket Boys". It was revealed that two of Indonesia's top badminton athletes, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, made cameos in this drama.
"Racket Boys" tells of the struggles of a former best badminton player to coach Haenam Seo Middle School badminton club. The problem is, the badminton team is on the verge of disbanding where the players are not very good.
The premiere episode of "Racket Boys" airs May 31 and can be watched on Netflix. Ahead of the broadcast, PB Djarum's official account suddenly promoted this drama via Twitter.
"For you lovers of Korean dramas or exciting series packed with comedy, there's something new at @NetflixID! Perfect for friends who like badminton or want to be athletes," PB Djarum tweeted.
But what drew attention was an additional message that read, "Kak Kevin & Kak Marcus make a cameo if you say Buddy! Daru will be proud!"
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, whom Kevin / Marcus often called when playing men's doubles, apparently made cameos in unexpected ways. Their portrait is seen in one of the scenes, aka displayed on the wall.
Although he didn't actually appear in "Racket Boys", many Indonesian netizens were curious and helped promote this drama. Many also claim to be proud.
Meanwhile, "Racket Boys" is studded with talented teenage stars such as Tang Joon Sang, Son Sang Yeon, Choi Hyun Wook, Kim Kang Hoon, Lee Jae In and Lee Ji Won.
