Netflix will soon present 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North', a special episode of the very popular Netflix Korean series 'Kingdom'.

The Secret Behind Reviving Dead Plants Will Be Revealed in 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North'

Airing on July 23, 2021, this special episode will reveal the origin of plants that can resurrect the dead, which previously terrorized and triggered various tragic events in Joseon that were discussed in the series 'Kingdom 1' and 'Kingdom 2'.

In the first teaser, we can see the figure of a young Ashin holding a torch and entering a scary cave in the dark. He also finds strange markings on a rock, as well as a mysterious plant that can resurrect the dead.

With this discovery, begins the story of the beginning of the zombie outbreak that will reveal how plants that grow in the north can spread and wreak havoc in the Joseon region.

'Kingdom: Ashin of the North' will be directed by Kim Seong Hun who was also involved in directing and producing the first season of 'Kingdom', as well as scriptwriter Kim Eun Hee who worked on both seasons of 'Kingdom'. Actress Jun Ji Hyun, who surprised the audience with her presence at the end of the second season, will play Ashin who has grown up.

Meanwhile, Kim Sia, who stole attention through her acting skills in 'The House of Us' and 'Miss Baek', will play Ashin in childhood. Actor Park Byung Eun will return to play the role of the head of the Royal Command Min Chi Rok who helps the Royal Prince Lee Chang in preventing the entry of zombie troops into the kingdom's territory. 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North' will highlight the story of the mysterious figure Ashin and the origins of the plague that raised the dead King, which is the beginning of the misery that befell the Joseon kingdom.
