Approaching its premiere, 'Sweet And Sour' held a press conference on Tuesday (1/6). Starring Jang Ki Yong, Chae Soo Bin, and Krystal, this film promises a story that is close to the audience.
Ahead of its first broadcast, "Sweet and Sour" held a press conference on Tuesday (1/6). On this occasion, Jang Ki Yong, Chae Soo Bin, Krystal, and director Lee Gye Byuk shared their thoughts on their latest film.
"Sweet and Sour" tells the story of the relationship between Jang Hyuk (Jang Ki Yong) and Da Eun (Chae Soo Bin), who was originally sweet and had to change because of their busy lives. In between the fading of the beautiful moments between the two, the charming Bo Young (Krystal) comes and offers a new "flavor" to Jang Hyuk's life.
All the characters in "Sweet and Sour" have realistic aspects as the basis for their formation, especially Da Eun who is busy with her profession as a nurse. Meanwhile, Jang Hyuk is a young man who tries hard to become a permanent worker at a large company.
Regarding the characterizations in the film, director Lee Gye Buk revealed, "Today's young people are much busier than us. Busy life definitely makes dating difficult between them, I include a nurse who works part-time in a three-shift system where the day off is uncertain."
Then about Jang Hyuk, the director mentioned that he is a character who is attached to the phenomenon of today's youth. Where someone works hard late into the night in order to get a permanent position in a big company.
"On the other hand, Jang Hyuk wants to be a full-time worker at a big company so he works late and can't meet her (Da Eun). But because she's a busy young person, I created a character (Bo Young) who became close to her. because they spend a lot of time together. I think this describes the image of young people these days," continued Lee Gye Byuk.
In addition to talking about the story that was carried, the director expressed how happy he was to work with the selected actors. That's because the three main actors have quite mastered the roles they play.
Lee Gye Byuk added, "I haven't done much on films but among them, this casting was done the fastest. Since these three actors are popular in the romance genre, 'Sweet and Sour' needed that image so they were chosen so easily."
Meanwhile, "Sweet and Sour" began airing on Friday (4/6). This romantic film is screened simultaneously in 190 countries through the Netflix application. (wk/inta)
