Covid-19 is now attacking K-Pop idols again. One of Lovelyz's members, Jisoo, tested positive.
The news was delivered directly by Woollim Entertainment as management. Jisoo tested positive for Covid-19 on June 22, 2021.
"Hello, we are from Woollim Entertainment. Lovelyz member Seo Jisoo tested positive for Covid-19 on June 22, 2021 in the morning," said management.
"Jisoo immediately underwent a test after being informed on June 21 that one of the staff had tested positive for Covid-19. After that, he was confirmed positive on the morning of June 22," he continued.
Jisoo also postponed all scheduled activities. Woollim Entertainment confirmed that it had taken the actions suggested by the medical team.
While regarding the other Lovelyz members, Woollim Entertainment said all members and staff had undergone tests. They have also been in self-quarantine since June 22, 2021.
"All Lovelyz members and staff, who are classified as having close contact with Jisoo, have been tested on June 22, 2021. They are currently undergoing self-quarantine," explained Woollim Entertainment.
"We prioritize the safety of our artists and employees. So we will follow orders and rules from the medical side after the test results are revealed," he added.
At the end of the statement, Woollim Entertainment hopes that fans can understand the situation because Lovelyz has to undergo self-quarantine until the specified time.
"We hope for understanding regarding this incident. We will try hard to follow the rules related to Covid-19 and take precautions as much as possible," concluded Wollim Entertainment.
This is not the first time that Covid-19 has hit the K-Pop entertainment world. Recently, SEVENTEEN had to postpone their comeback promotions because one of the staff tested positive for Covid-19.
