RM Reveals Original 'Butter' Lyrics Needed A Change To Fit Each Rapper's Style. Therefore, he competed with Suga and J-Hope to see whose lyrics would be taken for the official song.
The rap-line BTS (Bangtan Boys) is legendary because of their skill and songwriting. RM (Rap Monster) and Suga expressed how seriously they took their lyrics when they managed to compete among themselves.
BTS recently held an online press conference for their comeback with "Butter". On this occasion, they talked about their new single in English, their love for ARMY (the name of BTS fans), and more.
One of the things that the group talked about during the press conference were the lyrics of the song. RM and Suga then shared stories about the friendly rivalry that took place between them. RM revealed how the original lyrics of the song needed a change to suit each rapper's style.
Therefore, he competed with Suga and J-Hope to see whose lyrics would be picked up for the official song. RM eventually emerged triumphantly, and was credited for the lyrics in the song.
“When we received the song, we felt that the rap part needed an arrangement to suit our own style. So, Suga, J-Hope, and I had to participate in rewriting the lyrics. It was a competition, and I was lucky enough to be selected, "said RM.
Suga later commented on the competition, humorously sharing how even though he had worked hard in his English for “Butter”, he ended up losing to RM. "We always compete with each other when it comes to songwriting. I actually learned English to write" Butter ", because it's an English song, but yeah, I failed mercilessly," replied Suga.
Hopefully “Butter” itself is expected to immediately attract listeners with its charming intro base-line and refreshing synth sound. BTS has decided to hook up a global team of music producers and composers once again in the production of this song.
"Butter" gave his songwriting credits to Rob Grimaldi, Stephen Kirk, Ron Perry, Jenna Andrews, Alex Bilowitz, Sebastian Garcia, and BTS leader himself, RM (Rap Monster). Reflecting its title, the song projects a subtle yet prominent sound, revealing another layer of BTS's artistic and musical talent.
Regarding the music video for “Butter,” Big Hit Music has stated, “The highlight of this elevator concept music video is the different choreography performed by each BTS member, in their respective frames and underneath the luxurious stage spotlight”.
On the other hand, BTS itself has been confirmed to present their comeback stage of "Butter" at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards 2021 (BBMA 2021), on May 24. Not only that, they were also included in the 4 categories of the award event. (wk / daughter)
