In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Jungkook shared thoughts on their clothing styles that have changed drastically between then and now.
BTS (Bangtan Boys) conducted an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, discussing many things about their careers. Jungkook shared thoughts on their fashion style that changed drastically between then and now.
From streetwear to high-end fashion, BTS has experimented with various looks over the past eight years. RM (Rap Monster) and friends debuted with hip-hop inspired t-shirts and necklaces for their album, "2 Cool 4 Skool".
Jungkook's initial concept photo is very different from his concept photo for BTS's upcoming single "Butter". For "No More Dream", BTS's debut song, the 1997-born singer wore dark clothes with darker eyeliner.
For "Butter", Jungkook wore a chic suit in one photo and glam rocker skin in the other. Her purple hair brings a splash of color to the vintage set, and both looks are paired with subtle makeup.
Regarding BTS's appearance that has changed drastically, Jungkook said, "When we first debuted, we had really sharp makeup, with eyeliner and all, and dark clothes that looked fierce."
The “golden maknae” revealed the sad reason behind their casual debut appearance. "At that time, our company was relatively small and we couldn't allocate much of our budget for clothing," he said.
Currently, BTS has a higher budget for style and they have a meeting to define their aesthetic. For Jungkook, the visual aspect is as important as music and choreography.
"But now we devote a lot of time and we have a lot of meetings to choose clothes and styles that match the song and album. So I think the visual aspect is very important. Song, dance, every individual aspect is very important," said Jungkook.
Meanwhile, BTS will be releasing "Butter" which is an English-language song on May 21 as a digital single. The music video was also released on the same day.
In other news, BTS is nominated for four different awards at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMA) 2021, namely Top Duo / Group, Top Social Artist, and Top Song Sales Artist and Top Selling Song for "Dynamite". (wk / chus)
