The misunderstanding is thought to have triggered the anger of Taemin and ENHYPEN's fans towards Super Junior member Shindong.
ENHYPEN, a boy group from BE: LIFT, appeared as guests on a program hosted by Shindong and Donghae, "Idol Challenge: Another Class".
Shindong asked who the leader of ENHYPEN was and was answered directly by Jungwon who said that he was the leader of the boy group. Shindong and Donghae were a little surprised because they were used to the system that the leader should be the oldest member of the group.
Wanting to clarify this point, Shindong asked "Why is Jungwon the leader?" and make hand gestures for Jungwon to explain it towards the camera.
However, this has led to the misunderstanding of ENHYPEN fans who think that Shindong questions Jungwon's ability as a leader and raises various harsh criticisms via Twitter.
Apart from that, Shindong was also subject to rant attacks from fans of SHINee's Taemin when he reacted to the MV “Advice” on May 22nd.
Taemin, who is known for his androgynous style, reaps Shindong's compliments, "He has beautiful visuals so even when he's with female dancers, he looks good with them", he said. He continued by saying, “It is difficult to tell whether he is male or female” which caused Taemin's fans to get emotional and send various criticisms and harsh words to Shindong.
Because of this, ELF (Super Junior fans) raised the hashtag #ApologizeToShindong on Twitter against the rude attitude of some ENHYPEN and Taemin fans towards their misunderstanding.
ELF also sent a letter to SJ Label as the management of Super Junior, where one of the contents was to provide an official English translation from the agency which was fast and precise so that similar problems would not occur in the future. (www.kpopchart.net)
