Jay Park gave his official statement after being accused of insulting Islam through the lyrics of his song.
Previously Jay Park had drawn controversy because the song "MUKKBANG" which was released in 2020 contained lyrics that were deemed to have insulted Islam.
Some of the lines of the lyrics that sparked controversy were, "Worship me as Allah", "Stop for Allah, all we want is Greetings", and "Even Arab women take off their hijab and wear bikinis, hip hop."
Now on Thursday (27/05), the founder of the AOMG agency and the H1GHR Music label wrote a tweet on his Twitter account.
Through the tweet, Jay Park wrote, “The lyrics are never intended to be offensive or disrespectful. To everyone who feels that way I'm sorry. You all say 'He is harassing religion' or 'racist', stop with that false narrative and nonsense. To me it's just lyrics rather than something more serious. As simple as that."
He continued, “So it's for people who feel that way. I don't know so it's my fault. Now I will again impact people's lives in a positive way. Hope you guys do the same. Peace and love for everyone. "
Jay Park also promised to be more careful in the future, “Of course if it makes you feel bad I apologize with all my heart. Really understand where you are from. Next time I will be more attentive dear. The love of all my Muslim fans and I hope it doesn't make you think I'm different. For those who want to hate let them hate, ”he wrote. (www.kpopchart.net)
Lyrics were never meant to be offensive or disresepctful. For anyone who took it that way i apologize. Yall outta pocket for "he draggin a religion" or "racist" comments stop with that bull shit false narrative. To me, its just lyrics to some of its more serious. Simple as that
