The controversy over the Chinese advertisement in the drama "Vincenzo" has been a hot topic for the past few years. After two weeks, the production team finally took wise steps to end the controversy.

On Wednesday (31/3) today, tvN announced that the scene of Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Bin showing Chinese bibimbap advertisements had been removed from the VOD or OTT service (viewable video shows). However, the abolition is still in the domestic sphere.

A representative from tvN explained, "The scene has been removed from all domestic OTT services. For international OTT services, it may take about two days before editing."

The Chinese advertising controversy "Vincenzo" itself appeared in episode eight when Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Bin) offered Vincenzo (Song Joong Ki) packaged bibimbap. Although bibimbap is a Korean specialty, the advertised products are filled with Mandarin. After further investigation, the product was produced in collaboration between Chinese and Korean companies.

After the scene aired, South Korean netizens worried that China would claim bibimbap as the country's specialty. This is because China has tried to claim a number of Korean cultures including hanbok (Korean traditional clothing), kimchi, Korean dramas and so on.

After widespread controversy, South Korean history professor Seo Kyoung Duk also opened his voice. Like netizens, he is also worried about the unilateral claims of Korean culture as well as the misunderstanding of international viewers about the country of origin of bibimbap.

Meanwhile, the plot of "Vincenzo" has entered a new chapter. Jang Joon Woo (Taecyeon), who has been carrying out crimes in secret, finally announced his identity as the boss of Babel Group. He is also ready to fight Vincenzo and Hong Cha Young openly. (wk / eval)
