Son Ye Jin recently announced her first public relationship with actor Hyun Bin. Her past confession about the reasons for not dating has resurfaced online and is drawing the spotlight.
Back in 2007, Son Ye Jin spoke in an interview with axara KBS "Entertainment Weekly" in which the host asked why he was single. "You are very beautiful. Why don't you have a boyfriend?" asked the emcee.
Son Ye Jin's response left a strong impression on fans. "Because I have high standards. I'm beautiful," he replied at that time.

Son Ye Jin's remarks made fans wonder if Hyun Bin was the first man to truly live up to his high standards. But the 1982-born actress later revealed in 2018 through the same event that she was just kidding. "I just said it to be funny," he said.
Son Ye Jin later clarified that he wasn't dating because he couldn't. "I can't date now. To date, you have to go out to meet people and go on blind dates, but it's not easy. And it gets harder as you get older," she said.
Meanwhile, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin confirmed that they are dating after Dispatch announced the two as a New Year's couple. Dispatch has actually known about their relationship since early 2020. But the well-known media did not disclose it in connection with the start of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Back in 2018, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin starred in the movie "The Negotiation" together. After the release of the film, rumors started in the industry that the two were dating based on how they interact with each other.
