Jamie aka Park Ji Min recently appeared on the latest episode of KBS's "Immortal Song" on February 6th. He talked about the JYP Entertainment artist he was most afraid of.
After winning the "K-pop Star" competition, Jamie signed a contract with JYP Entertainment in 2012. He then debuted as a duo group 15 & with Baek Yerin. Jamie left the agency in 2019 after his contract ended.
During his appearance on "Immortal Song", Jamie reminisced about the days when he was still a JYP Entertainment artist. The 1997-born singer revealed that he was afraid of 2AM's Jo Kwon when they were agency partners. He called Jo Kwon senior the scariest.
"He had an expression when he looked at us from behind, like, 'What is this?' It has a vibe like that, "he explained. "But once you become friends with him, no one else takes care of other people like him," he continued.
Jamie also said that Jo Kwon was a disciplinarian at JYP. "He didn't really tell us, and he told us he wouldn't, but when he came, we all sat up straighter," he said.
Meanwhile, Jamie signed a contract with the Warner Music Korea label after leaving JYP Entertainment. Since then he has been promoting under the name Jamie. Warner Music houses a lineup of popular Western artists such as Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, and many more.
Before leaving JYP Entertainment, Jamie had released a song titled "Stay Beautiful". He participated in producing the lyrics for the song. Jamie also explained that he felt really comfortable filming with his friends and thanked fans for waiting so patiently for him.
Then in September 2020, Jamie made his first comeback under Warner Music Korea with the single "Numbers" featuring Changmo. Her second song "Apollo 11" featuring Jay Park was released in November 2020. The latest song that Jamie has released is "Christmas Languages". (wk / chus)
