Ahead of the premiere, "Vincenzo" held an online press conference on Monday (15/2) which was attended by production director (PD) Kim Hee Won and the three main actors who were none other than Song Joong Ki, Jeon Yeo Bin, and 2 PM's Taecyeon. .
"Vincenzo" itself tells of Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong Ki), a lawyer and Mafia consigliere who was adopted by an Italian family at a young age. He moved back to Korea due to conflict within his organization.
In Korea, Vincenzo meets a sharp-tongued lawyer named Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Bin) and an intern, Jang Joon Woo (Taecyeon). They join forces to use malicious methods to bring down criminals who cannot be punished by law.
At the press conference, Song Joong Ki revealed the details of the character he played. "I think Vincenzo is a fun character not only for me, but also for many people. We hear news about bad people in all fields," said Song Joong Ki.
"When I got the synopsis, there was some dialogue about the author's intentions. I never connected too much with the author's intentions before. I could feel his desire to write about social criticism, and to write characters that solve social problems in a refreshing way," he added. Song Joong Ki.
"When you see the news, you get very angry. You want those bad people to be punished. Everyone thinks like that. Reading the script gives me the same feeling. My character is a character who feels separated after living in Italy for so long," added Song Joong. Ki.
"He returned to his homeland, Korea, and felt various emotions such as loneliness, sadness, but also relief," continued Song Joong Ki. The handsome actor also rated the role as the most difficult he has ever played (in his entire acting career) as it required action scenes and speaking in Italian.
