Travel writer and translator Gina Maeng recently talked about an interesting story involving herself and IU on her YouTube channel. He revealed that their lives had been saved by fortune tellers.
Gina Maeng was an idol trainee for 12 years under LOEN Entertainment (former company IU) and many other entertainment companies until she finally left the industry for various reasons.
Recently Gina Maeng made a short video remembering a story that she thought would interest many people. This is the story of how a fortune teller saved his and IU's life in 2011.
According to Gina, the CEO of LOEN Entertainment went to the fortune teller at the beginning of the company's history. This was even before they debuted anyone, because all artists are just newcomers. The CEO asked the fortune teller if his company would be successful.
"Apparently, the fortune teller said that the first singer in his company would become very famous. But the fortune teller also said that when that happened, they had to move. Once the artist got big, quickly packed up and left without looking back," said Gina.
IU went on to become a big star with her song "Good Day". Gina explains that one day they went to the company, and everyone was packing. Confused, they started asking questions. But the CEO just told them they would move out now and start packing.
After they moved to the new building, Gina revealed that there was a large landslide from the mountain just behind the old agency building. "It literally wiped out the entire company building. Soil and mud filled the recording studio and rehearsal room in the basement. If anyone was in the building, they might be dead," he said.
During the summer of 2011, Seoul experienced a series of deadly floods and landslides, killing more than 77 people. This shows that IU has really always been lucky. (wk / chus)
