In the midst of rumors of bullying that befell Soojin (G) I-DLE, recently there was a post on an online forum saying Mingyu was once an 'iljin' or a thug at school.
These netizens claim to be ordinary female students and attend the same elementary and middle school as Mingyu. While in junior high school, these netizens admitted to being bullied by 'sunbae' and 'unnie', who stole money from him and cursed at him.
These netizens claim that Mingyu is in the same group as the thugs and say that Mingyu only looks and laughs when he is bullied by his friends. He also accused Mingyu of smoking and drinking alcohol as a minor, of often skipping school and being caught by teachers, and taking money from him and saying that "he needed money to go to the practice site".
As evidence, these netizens included a photo of their report card from Burim Middle School, which is the middle school where Mingyu attended.
In response to the post, many Korean netizens claimed to be 'neutral' until there was more evidence. Netizens also requested that the Pledis Entertainment agency immediately provide an official statement and clarification regarding these rumors. (www.kpopchart.net)
