Announcing their love affair apparently brings good luck to the actor Hyun Bin and actress Son Ye Jin. The couple who starred in the drama "Crash Landing on You" was appointed to star in a couple commercial for a brand from the Philippines, Smart.
Fans paired Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin after seeing their chemistry while playing Ri Jeong Hyeok and Yoon Se Ri in "Crash Landing on You". The tvN drama soon became one of the most watched cable television shows of all time in South Korea, and "BinJin" was a big part of its success.
So, on New Year's Eve last year, viewers around the world were very happy to find out that Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin were actually dating in real life. Starting February 2021, they have been in a relationship for the past 10 months.
Hyun Bin once mentioned that he wants to date an understanding woman who is comfortable with his acting career, while Son Ye Jin expressed how much she loves tall men with angular features, so it's clear the two get on well with each other.
Now, the happy couple are starring in their first CF together since revealing the relationship. In June 2020, Hyun Bin became one of the new supporters for Smart, one of the largest telecommunication companies in the Philippines. Son Ye Jin joined him in August 2020 with his own campaign ad.
This time, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin are starring in a smart campaign together. The one-minute ad entitled "Inevitable" follows the couple finding each other in a high-tech setting.
After Hyun Bin asked, "Do you believe this is possible?" Son Ye Jin answered, "I believe." This commercial ends with one of the sweetest hugs you will see among Korean stars, along with the brand tagline: "Simplé, Smart ako."
As part of a couple campaign for Smart, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin also recorded a very sweet message for Valentine's Day. Here, say to the audience, "Mahal namin kayo" which means "We love you" in Tagalog.
Unsurprisingly, "BinJin" fans found the advert so adorable. Son Ye Jin's line, "I believe" trended in the Philippines with over 2 million tweets, while #SmartMadeBinJinInevitable trended at no. 1 in Singapore. Additionally, an SBS Entertainment News article about the advertisement hit the top of Naver's daily trending articles list. (wk / dewi)
