Label V is considered disrespectful of Chinese culture and Chinese fans in the WayV Lunar New Year greeting at LYSN (a community application to connect with artists and other fans).

WayV fans, WayZenNi, have expressed their anger at Label V which houses WayV in China. Their anger was partly triggered by the recent Chinese New Year greetings from Kun and friends.
Label V was judged disrespectful of Chinese culture and Chinese fans in the WayV Lunar New Year greeting on LYSN (a community application to connect with other artists and fans). The following is the content of their complaints:
"For Label V, we are writing this email to talk about WayV's reputation in China. Many Chinese fans are angry now and if the label refuses to release a statement regarding the current situation, Chinese fans will boycott WayV's next comeback."
In their email, Chinese fans stated that WayV's official Chinese New Year greeting at LYSN was in English, and not Chinese. As the Chinese sub-unit of the Korean boy group NCT which is active in the Chinese market, fans from the country expect speech to be done in Mandarin.

Second, Chinese fans are annoyed by the use of the male bow emoji 🙇♂️, as this is not part of Chinese culture during Chinese New Year, but Korean culture. Finally, fans in China expressed their anger at the use of “Chinese New Year” rather than “Chinese New Year,” as Label V felt disrespect for the origins of the holiday.
But amid rumors and misunderstanding about the situation among fans, Chinese fans want to clarify that they are not directing their anger at WayV, but Label V who is in charge of the group.
Chinese fans are worried that WayV will receive harsh reactions or hatred from fans of other Chinese Pop artists and do not want the group to be blamed. In addition, they explained that they did not ask WayV to return to China, but to Label V to apologize for the disrespect shown to them. (wk / dewi)
