Big Hit Will Debut New Boyband With Universal Music Group

Big Hit Entertainment has again revealed its cooperation plan with Universal Music Group. In the future, they will debut a global boy band.

In the video released regarding the collaboration, Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge, Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si Hyuk, and Big Hit Entertainment Global CEO Lenzo Yoon revealed a project called the 'global artist debut project'. They will hold auditions to determine the members of the boyband.

"Together with Universal Music Group, Big Hit Entertainment will debut a boy band that will be active globally. We will select members through global auditions," said Lenzo Yoon.

"With this, we plan to hold an audition program with US media partners in 2022," he continued.

Later Big Hit Entertainment will be responsible for finding and training trainees while Universal Music Group will produce audition programs with partners from the United States.

"Big Hit Entertainment will be responsible for finding and training trainees to become artists, producing content for fans, and communicating with fans through Weverse," explained Lenzo Yoon.

"By leveraging a strong local network, Universal Music Group will be responsible for music production, global distribution, and producing audition programs with US media partners," he concluded.

Lenzo Yoon also mentioned their plans to set up a headquarters in Los Angeles which will serve as the label that will oversee their new group later. In the future, Big Hit Entertainment will collaborate with Universal Music Group through Big Hit America.

Previously, Big Hit Entertainment collaborated with Universal Music Group and YG Entertainment to create a new streaming platform called VenewLive. The platform is a global-scale streaming platform for a number of musicians including idols who are under the auspices of the two big management. /hot.detik.com
