Not only female characters can make a change in appearance or makeover. There are also male characters in Korean dramas who do makeovers that produce extraordinary changes. For example in the following drama:

Seo Jung Hoo (Ji Chang Wook) is a man with many masks. He carries out his duties in disguise. He meets Chaw Young Shin (Park Min Young) while doing his job and ends up falling in love. Jung Hood and Young Shin then clean themselves and change their appearance while undercover to solve the mystery. The changes of both of them look very perfect.
4. It's Okay to not be Okay
Kim Soo Hyun plays Moon Kang Tae, a nurse at a mental hospital. Taking care of her autistic older brother and having to keep working, she couldn't care less about how she looked.
