SM Entertainment opened the year by pampering fans through an online concert entitled "SM Town Live Culture Humanity". Unmitigated, this concert is held free of charge and can be enjoyed by fans everywhere. Not only presenting spectacular stage acts, this concert also brought good news to SHINee fans.

SHINee's maknae, Taemin became one of the lineups of performers at this spectacular concert. But apart from giving Taemin's magnificent appearance, SM Entertainment also gave a signal that SHINee would soon comeback with a full group format through a teaser.

The teaser starts with a montage of some of SHINee's biggest hits, then ends with the words "2021: SHINee is back". Three SHINee members namely Onew, Key, and Minho are known to have completed their military service in the second half of 2020. So it is not impossible that the boy group will finally return to activities as a group.

This makes fans really look forward to SHINee's comeback in the near future. This group is known to have last released an album in 2018 through "The Story Of The Light". The album is divided into three parts, with each consisting of five songs and a separate lead single. The first album with the title single "Good Evening" was released digitally and physically on May 28, 2018 under SM Entertainment and distributed by IRIVER.

The second album of the trilogy was released on June 11th with the title single "I Want You" and the third or final album from the album was released on June 25th with the lead single "Our Page". On September 10, 2018, Shinee released a repackaged version of the album entitled "The Story of Light: Epilogue", combining the previous three parts with a new song, "Countless".

On the other hand, the "SM Town Live Culture Humanity" concert is known to be a virtual concert with the largest audience ever in South Korea. The number of concertgoers reached 35.83 million spread across 186 countries. This record is also an illustration of how strong the popularity of SM Entertainment idols is.
