The ending of the latest episode of "Mr. Queen" which aired on Sunday (24/1) successfully amazed Korean netizens. They especially highlighted the secret code given by King Cheoljong (Kim Jung Hyun) to Queen Kim So Yong (Shin Hye Sun).
The scene began when the queen was furious after the king executed Dam Hyang (Kang Chae Won) by telling her to drink poison. The punishment was given because Dam Hwang had thrown stones at the queen to prevent her from being poisoned by the Kim clan.
The king was initially reluctant to punish Dam Hyang because he knew he was trying to save the queen. However, the Kim clan continued to press against him, angry that the little girl destroyed their plan to kill the queen.
That's why when the queen finally found out that Dam Hyang was lying stiff in front of the royal officials, she was furious at the king for not being able to protect Dam Hyang. The queen even called the king's inability to fight the Kim clan a sin.
"That is a sacrifice that must be made for a greater purpose. Didn't you say that this world is an unfair place? I prevented a bigger disaster with this small sacrifice," cried the king. "Inability is a sin. You cannot even protect this little child. It is your sin," said the queen.
After that the king turned away. But secretly he crossed his two fingers for the queen to see. The gesture itself was made by the queen so they could share secret codes with each other while lying. Seeing this, the queen was speechless in shock.
After the broadcast, this scene became a hot topic of conversation among South Korean netizens. Many of them were happy because the king always remembered what the queen had said. Besides, they also suspected that Dam Hyang was actually still alive. However, the king deliberately faked his sentence so that the little girl would no longer be harassed by the Kim clan.
