Biography
Super Junior (Suju or SJ) is a boy band from South Korea formed by SM Entertainment since 2005. Super Junior initially had 13 personnel, namely% Leeteuk% (Park Jung Soo), Han Geng, Heechul (Kim Heechul), Yesung (Kim Jung Woon), Kangin (Kim Young Woon), Shindong (Shin Dong Hee), Sungmin (Lee Sung Min), Eunhyuk (Lee Hyuk Jae), Donghae (Lee Donghae), Siwon (Choi Siwon), Ryeowook (Kim Ryeo Wook) , Kibum (Kim Kibum) and Kyuhyun (Cho Kyu Hyun).
However, in the course of his career, currently Suju only has 9 active personnel. Han Geng officially resigned after having a case with SM Entertainment, while Kibum was more active in acting. Kangin and Heechul are currently serving in the military.
The training period experienced by each Suju personnel is different from one another. This is because they were born from different auditions. The majority of the personnel were found through SM auditions, only maknae Kyuhyun was the last one who did not undergo training.
Suju debuted in 2005 with the release of the album "SuperJunior05" (2005). At first this boy band was also named SuperJunior05, the same as their first album. But since the entry of new members in 2006, Kyuhyun, SuperJunior05 changed their name to Super Junior.
Together with Kyuhyun, Suju released a single titled "U" (2006). The single "U" received a positive response from the public and gave birth to a fan club called ELF (Everlasting Friends). Until now, Suju has released five studio albums, namely "SuperJunior05" (2005), "Don't Don" (2007), "Sorry Sorry" (2009), "Bonamana" (2010) and "Mr. Simple" (2011) ). Thanks to these five albums, Suju has been declared the boy band that has the biggest name in Asia and has won numerous awards, both in Korea and Asia.
Suju has several sub-groups that also exist in the Korean music scene, namely Super Junior-T, Super Junior K.R.Y and Super Junior-M (Super Junior-M). Super Junior-T was formed in 2008 and has six personnel who are Suju's oldest personnel. Super Junior K.R.Y, which consists of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung, is a sub-group formed based on the strongest vocal character in Suju's body. They introduced themselves to the public in 2006. Meanwhile, Super Junior-M was formed to meet the demands of the Chinese music market and consists of a combination of personnel from Korea (Kyuhyun, Siwon, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Sungmin, Ryeowook) and Chinese (Henry Lau and Zhou Mi). Super Junior-M introduced himself to the media in 2008.
Technically, only Super Junior-T was announced to officially debut in Japan in 2008 with the single "Rokuko". For Suju herself, although they never mentioned officially debuting in Japan, they touched the Japanese music market with the Japanese version of the mini album "Bonamana" which was released on June 8, 2011. Suju's second Japanese single was "Mr. Simple" which was released last December 7. .
In the South Korean entertainment industry, Suju is known as the king of variety shows and commercials. Various reality show titles have invited Suju to appear on their shows. Each of its personnel is also active in starring in series and films. Not to mention the dozens of advertisements they starred in, ranging from perfume, electronics, food, beverages, cosmetics, fashion to automotive.
Throughout his career, Suju has held their popular concert tour, "Super Show". "Super Show 1" or "The 1st ASIA TOUR, Super Show" was held in 2008-2009, after which it was continued by holding "Super Show 2" (2009-2010), "Super Show 3" (2010-2011), and " The WORLD TOUR, Super Show 4 "(2011-2012).
