Ever since Red Velvet's Wendy left her parents in Canada to become an idol, fans are overjoyed to hear she is finally celebrating Christmas Eve with them in South Korea this year. When Wendy posted photos of her delicious food on Instagram, fans were struck by a single detail that reveals just how rich she is.

Just one look at Wendy's Christmas food, we already know her family loves to do things in an upscale way. The table is laid out with fresh fruit salad, grilled meats, cream mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, and a complementary glass of wine.

But for some fans, it's not the food that catches their attention but the plates. After realizing how luxurious Wendy's cutlery was, a fan on Twitter was excited to find out and was surprised at the price.

The Wendy's family decorative plates come from a well-known ceramic manufacturer called the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory. Founded in Russia in the 1700s, this brand is known for its elegant and expensive plates, bowls, teacups and more.

The cutlery on Wendy's table in particular comes from the Cobalt Net range, hand-painted in blue and gold and a complete set of cutlery costs $ 1,470 (approx Rp.20.7 million). Even individually, the plates and bowls seen at the Wendy's family home can cost up to 100 USD each.

Judging from Wendy's tableware, it could be said that her family was quite rich. Of course, that's not too surprising considering he was born in Seongbuk-dong, a neighborhood in Seoul known for being host to wealthy families from all over the world. Referred to as "Korea's Beverly Hills", Seongbuk-dong used to be owned by the royal family during the Joseon dynasty.

Plus, when the family moved to North America, both Wendy and her older sister attended Shattuck-Saint Mary's School in Minnesota, which costs $ 57,500 per year to international students.

During a radio appearance a few years ago, Joy even joked that she heard Wendy's house in Canada had more than fifty rooms, although Wendy said she wasn't sure how many rooms there actually were. So, from her point of view, it's no surprise that the Wendy family has such expensive tableware at home.
